The Wadia 170 iTransport turns any currently available iPod player or iPhone into a high-end media server by providing a bit-perfect digital audio output to an audio/video system, bypassing the player’s internal digital-to-analog conversion (DAC) and analog output stage. Subsequently, the audio signal remains clean and unadulterated throughout the path, outputting a “bit-perfect” digital stream. Along with turning an iPod into a high-performance audio server, iTransport is one of the first docks to access video content stored on currently available iPods. Similar to the audio section, the video signal is made available via high performance component outputs that provide up to DVD-quality video.

This project was constructed from Birch plywood. The table is 38″ in diameter with an overall thickness of 1.5″. Two 3/4″ pieces of plywood were sandwiched together to achieve the bulk top. Bent ply legs purchased from Ikea make up the support system. There are two 1/4″ curly Maple inlays running the length of the table. It’s finished with Danish oil and wax. Approximate cost of materials $100.00.

This particular project is the direct result and response to 10 minutes of exposure to television shows where participants fight over paternity mysteries. At the conclusion of the dramatic episode DNA results 99.999% accurate are revealed. This particular project was completed in one sitting over the course of 14 hours. The tool of choice was Garage Band. There are 15 separate tracks and the piano tracks were added last and they complement the female lyrics quite well.

The bunk bed is designed from all four sides, the upper bunk having two access points, and thus can be placed in various configurations depending on the size and shape of the room – against one wall, in a corner, or freestanding.
