Bill Stumpf, designer of the Aeron chair (Herman Miller) a Minneapolis native, has written an excellent book entitled The Ice Palace That Melted Away: Restoring Civility and Other Lost Virtues to Everyday Life. In it he addresses the decline of civility in the States and proposes ways to restore them. Stumpf structures his analysis of civility into three parts -- things of civility, places of civility, and paths of civility.
